Before a meeting, practice the short mindful breathing meditation to help you calm any scattered thinking or internal chatter, 5 minutes is all you need

Remember to switch off your mobile phone to prevent seeing any distracting texts or missed calls that may leave you thinking about personal or work-related issues, rather than focusing on the present moment.

During the meeting, allow yourself to really listen and be mindful of the conversation. If we anticipate a question that is asked of us, we often interrupt or accidently cut off the person's sentence. It's not that we're being deliberately rude, it's just that we have already understood their question and have already formed the response.

By being mindful of the discussion, you can adapt to the changing nature of the conversation and also illustrate your strength in listening and communication.
